    Big Frank -- It looks like snow to me, but I have to admit that it's been so long since I've seen snow that I'm not an authority.

    Contrary to popular belief, however, it DOES sometimes snow where I live in Miami, FL. The last time was January 7, 1977. Didn't snow much or for long, and it melted when it hit the ground, but it was real snow and we could scrape it off our car tops.

    Your snow looks very snowy to me Frank ! Did you draw it with the freehand and brush tool, smoothing 0% ? I'm gonna try that

    Hi;

    My name is Brian Morin. I live in norther Canada, not the grand nord, but not far from there either. I hope you don't mind me jumping in?! Oh yes, I am very new to Xara, but I must admit, I think I've have been lethally smitten...

    I tried the freehand tool with 0% smoothing and I applyed the new hairy brush (the bottom part of image) at 72pts, changing it to white, of course. I just did this on a empty blue page to test it out. I also tried the sponge at 8 points.

    I still don't have it, but I'm going to do the tutorial that was mentioned about...

    Xara people seem to be creative and fun!

    Brian...

    Welcome to the Xara community. The software by itself is excellent, but the tutorials at XaraXone make it even better! Gary Priester does two major tutorials each month, and there are so many "mini-tuts" around here that it is truly wonderful.

    And the amount of help in this forum is amazing.

    When I first started trying to learn to use Xtreme, I went through the tutorials. (All of them!) Now, when I have trouble doing something, I can ask in this forum, and like magic, the answer(s) appear.

    If I tried to list the most helpful people in this forum, it would be a mammoth undertaking...and I won't even try, because I'd be sure to leave out someone.

    But over time, you will get a feeling of the personalities of the people on this forum, and we will all begin to seem like individuals. And soon, we will seem like friends.

    And, like most good friends, we love jokes, and you will find that some of the posts are downright punny.

    Thanks for the great welcome. In life there is nothing greater than feeling welcomed. I have started on the tutorials. It is not the first time I've gone that root with a program. I have done it in Photoshop and Flash, but sofar I find that the Xara group have some of the best tutorials, not that the others were bad, of the gang of them, and very easy to access.

    Thanks again for the warm welcome.
    Bri
