Hi Klaus,

Constructive criticism of a good product like Xara could only make it better, right?

will,

Klaus is not whining; it IS -constructive- criticism.

will - don't get into personal insults - it is just cheap and petty... stick to the subject at hand.

Looking at the other 2 Adobe apps I have, Go Live 5, and Page Maker 6.5, they both use the Standard Win9x GUI open dialog. Actually I kind of like the file open screen in PicturePublisher 8 (a handy little program for some things and free!)that I got with my Matrox Video card, see attachment. One thing I did notice was the thumbnail previews. PS6 would not preview png, bmp or gifs, while PP8 and XaraX both gave me previews. On a personal note I can't stand MS giving us the term "My Favorites" for everything.
All apps have there shortcomings in the GUI department, what I like is an uncluttered interface, speed and stability.

opps! my screen name is reveled

It's Konstructive Kriticism indeed! :-) And yes, the more we users "complain" about XaraX, the better it will hopefully be. XaraX is The World's Greatest Vector Program beyond ANY doubt - but it still has room for many small and large improvements. The above PS UI niceties are just two of them.

Raffon, I have used PictPub since version 3.1 - tha means back in 1993! I'm still at version 6, and it's very handy for a lot of basic bitmap work. It boots up in ONE second on my PIII500 machine - whereas PS 6 takes close to TWENTY seconds - so it's a speedy little thing indeed, with fine image previews.

Hi Klaus,

I can't say I can actually read Norwegian, but I got the gist of the writing.

BTW I like your web site, it makes one think!
