I guess you know the reason the doc spanks you is to get you to cry an' scream so's to ger air into your lungs.
Seems I didn't do that - I bust out laughing instead.
That more or less set the tone for the rest of my life.

Back when I was born, doctors gave mother's a shot of morphein for pain, but they didn't know it made the babies sleepy. So that they'd breathe at all they'd swat them to start them breathing.

I had three unmedicated births, and my kids didn't need any such incentive to breathe. Took right to it. Been doing so ever since.
