Happened to me too!
Bill
I didn't use mine, I only flicked through it after it arrived. A few pages did drop out while just reading the pages (not even bending the spine). The cover was already bent from poor packaging anyway so I've had it in an A5 binder for a while now.
I thought it was just me too, but if Xara's commercial future lies in selling extras over and above the open source software versions, it'll have to be a bit better than this if it's to sell enough.
Nice solution. Now to find one of those.
Have'nt really loooked at the manual but thought I would have a quick shiffty at and asked myself what is the biggest improvement over X1 and thought it must be the ability to export to PDF and thought better have a look. What a downer there is virtually nothing in the way of help. I think the word PDF is mentioed about 6 or 7 times and it is not worth the bother.
I would agree there must be a value in producing a book which gives proper instructions about the software Xtreme and not just a manual which is for Xara X1 which is given a new title. There is info on CMYK but as most folk know exporting for a printer in Xtreme is just about impossible.
Design is thinking made visual.
Well, Like I stated before, I never read a manual when I start working with
a new program, I like to nose around and discover and play around with
it, that way you create your own feel with the program and do things
slightly different from others and discover new things. After that
I go to forums like these and you can pick up from the users here.
After that has run dry I might consider using a manual.![]()
be aware, not to become a ware.
Doesn't that depend on whether or not your book has an internet connection?Originally Posted by Egg Bramhill

Yea, the manual is very polished and easy to read. The graphic illustrations and screenshots are especially helpful. Thanks Antony.Originally Posted by AntonyF
Perhaps I'm just lucky, but my copy of the manual seems fine so far. I read it all the way through once, and now I refer to it often. No lose pages yet.

I realize this is an old thread.
I've always been a fan of 'the manual'..
As such I googled for xtreme's manual, amongst others I found this link:http://site.xara.com/products/xtreme/manual/
Apparently chapter 10 can be opened in pdf.
Could anybody tell me other than the help file whether there still is a 'manual' available? I'd like to have a print copy. It's helpfull to be able to read it apart from using a helpfile.
Thanks a lot,
Erwin
