    I thought maybe we could have a thread where we post self-portraits. So here it is. I hope your self-portrait will join me or I'll be very lonely.

    Nice picture Ross. Are supposed to draw our portrait with Xara? Looks like youve done a photo and some bitmap work in Xara. It does have nice sketch effect to it. Did you use some plugin filters ?

    Mine was made in Xara using the 'Sketcher' plug-in from littleinkpot.com. Producing it really depended on Xara's transparency effects -- it isn't just straightforward output from the plugin. For the illustration Xara was functioning more like Photoshop than a vector illustration toolbox.

    I would hope if others contribute self-portraits to this thread they'll produce them however they see fit --- bitmap manipulation or vectored -- or both! Of course Xara should be involved since this is the Xara Gallery

    I started this one some time ago and realized I wasn't sure if I had the "gift" for portraiture, am pretty sure I don't have the patience, but I sure had fun with it!

    Hey Mickie! -- Until I just saw your portrait I didn't know you are a woman. (Until you saw mine you probably didn't know I have a beard -- Egg didn't know I had hair because a few years back I manipulated pictures making myself cue-ball bald). I've never tried doing a vector portrait ---- it must be a big challenge.

    Very nice use of the 'Sketcher' plug-in, Ross. Makes a good portrait.

    Mickie, I like your portrait. I'm sure it gives a good resemblance without too much detail.

    This is a slightly updated version of the self portrait I did several years ago. I'm afraid I have more gray hair now

    My portrait is shown at the top-left of all my posts. I'll try and do a bigger one, but me and my 99 mates are still busy trying to write the complete works of Shakespeare.

    Well, it's been a long time since I last did this, and I hate my own appearance anyway, but I've just produced a new self-portrait, traced by hand from a photo. Apart from simplifying it down to a few lines and shapes, the only artistic license I've taken was to make my teeth look better than they really are - no 5mm gap at the top!
