Hi. I thought about creating some "different" Christmas
cards and donating them here, for anyone's use.
I hope you like them and that this may stir you to create
some of your own to donate/share.

Another similar card.
[I orignally posted the xar file also, but it's quite huge,
over 300k. So, to not bog things up, I removed it. If
someone wants it, I'll email it to them.]

Hi Ken - Great Idea (working on a Card now) - What would be a good format to Post the Cards in? jpg? gif? png? Plus, I'd like some ideas on developement on this one -I got some ideas, just not sure how to proceed... Like on one, I was looking for a Christmas Font -found a Candy Cane one, to my suprise created with Xara-3d; but, I have No Clue How-to-Do...
Thanks - Tom

Hi, Tom, and thanks for appreciating the idea. I'm not the
moderator here, but I think any of those picture formats
you spoke of will be acceptable to post. I'm sure you're
like me in that I may have many "ideas" but bringing them
forward may take some work and time. Still, I do encourage
you and all the other fine folks here to stir up your creative
talents and share. After all, this upcoming season is about
love, hope, and generous giving. I look forward to what you
will do !

A card made in Xara and assisted by Paint Shop Pro ... Ken
Another excellent set Ken....great stuff. I have all your baubles on disc now I will save these too . How did you do the last one...was it with the 'Redfield' Lattice composer ? I did a quickie....forget it, the attachments upload doesn't work .
Well, hey, Ballpoint. Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you like
the posted "cards".
To answer your question abouth the last card ... just used a
bunch of elliptical fills, with various feathering and transparenices,
overlapping one another. Then, I used Paint Shop Pro 7 to create
the weave effect (steps : Effects menu > Texture Effect > Weave).
I'm sure the same weave effect could be done in Xara, but would
no doubt take more steps ... make your image ino a bitmap, then
slice it up into smaller pieces, spread apart, and place a huge black
rectangle behind all your layers.
As folks have opportunity, I hope they will pitch in and share some
of their own "cards". And I certainly wish for you an enjoyable week-
end. Take care and soak in the sun !

Thanks Ken....I have tried a similar effect using Xara Xtreme but haven't got it looking quite the same as yours yet. My problem with uploading is Firefox (unusually so) as I can upload with IE . Have to fix it now....er....?
