I am sure this must have come up before, but couldnt find an answer hunting through the forum. I want to be able to print larger than A4 and only have A4 printer - is it possible to do this with Xara, ideally with crop markers for cutting off printer margins???

I have done it many times. Just create your drawing at A4, then save as many copies as you need in A1 size to make an A4. Then just position the work around the A1 print area, and print...

Save at the larger size, I think that would be A4. Think of it the same way you would copy the pages in a book. 1 page at a time... Create An A4 copy for each A1 page. Then postion the "drawing" over the printable area... See pretty pic. (to see sense of scale, the words "Printable Area" are at 100 pitch.

    A1 is larger than A4.
    A4 is 210mm * 297mm & A1 is 840mm * 594mm. So 8 A4s would equal 1 A1.

Please have a look in your printer help file and look for topics on printing a "poster" or "tiling".

Every printer that I have owned had the facility to do this some were better than others at it. Xara is not like Illustrator where it is built into the drawing software but it lets the printer software take over. If the drawing has to be very accurately done you may want to increase the number of pages to allow for crop marks and reg. marks so that it can be lined up accurately.
