Great character Gary! How did you do it? Pencil/ink/PS6?? I really want to get an intuos so I could start doing that in PS6 and XX. Great job
Steve Newport
Nice image Gary!
Steve, get you a Wacom Art pad ASAP! Makes all the difference. I would even recommend getting the Graphire, if you do not want to spend the money for the Intuos.

hanks for the compliments, fellas. I used traditional art tools (my desgree in college was in art, so I hope this explains why I'm all over the place with interests in CGI software) to do Shwartzy there.
Then I scanned the ink drawing, autotraced it using Streamline (adobe), and then colored it in greyscale using XARA version 2.
I do own a Graphire and LOVE it. It's like $99 US and comes with Painter Classic. I can do handwriting and geometric shapes very well, but when it comes to "heavy-duty" drawing, I use the drawing table/scanning technique.
The attached was for Jim Carney's MIS Book "How to make your PC live forever", it was drawn at about the time the Egyptians were contemplating heiroglyphics (see the tape drive in the tower case?) and it would have taken too long to model it. I think the style supports the medium.

Nice style Gary
I really like the pen and wash type style myself.
