Hello,
I want to cut a piece out of a circle.
The circle has no fill color.
Now i want to break the line at two points and drop the part between.
(it should look like a horseshoe)
Please give me some hint.
THANX, gnu

Try this if you want to cut the circle and leave the remainder (i.e. the arc) to be editable as a line.
you guys are great. You both did a magnificent job the way you explained your solution with this amount of detail; thumbs up!
Good to see you back.
And great mini tutorials both of you guys.
Gnu41 - You don't have to post a poll. Press the New Topic button instead, unless you want to post a multiple part question.
The buttons are confusing and most new members make the same mistake :-)

Here's some fun with the tuts.
One of the horseshoe shapes, cloned and then brought down an inch or two from the original. Then "select all", click on the blend tool, punch in 20 steps and you've got your first shape. Clone it and then hit the "flip vertically" button on the task bar and then clone it. Bring to either side of the first created shape untill the skinny areas are pretty seemless looking, then group all three then clone and hit the "flip vertically" button and using the arrow keys on the keyboard move it into place. Then I added the jewel shapes and the eye ball. Silly fun but kinda cool looking, I think!!

Let me add a welcome to the forum. As in all things Xara there are normally more than one way of creating shapes. Here's a method following on from Ric's idea.
