Great tut!
However..,
There is a little app called "Elefont" that will let you type your text and save it as a "DXF" file which you can then import into bryce without going through this whole process.
I don't have a link but, I do have the app. It was freeware, I think.
I can get the company that makes it and maybe post it.

I actually LOVE this little App.
If I could just render ONLY the text to export to PS without the background, I would be sitting pretty.
