Why are the most simple solutions the ones that evade me?!

Yes, short shafts work for graceful curves... but not where the shaft of the arrow is long and needs to curve with the line.

Just something I thought might work...

Clicking "Arrange->Convert line to shape" with a dashed line selected produces as many little skinny rectangles as there are dash elements, and each little rectangle is editable. So far so good.

So, thinks I, if I set the line at null width, the little rectangles will have null width... will Xara be savvy enough to convert that sort of dashed line to a series of single lines, rather than skinny rectangles?

    It didn't. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Ok, here's a neat little trick for ya, draw yourself an arrowhead, put some invisible space in front of it. Now copy and paste it so you have 2 arrowheads. Draw yourself a curvy line, Select the blend tool and do a blend to the arrow heads. Using the blend tool shift select the line, then select the "Blend along a curve" icon, now select the "Rotate along curve" icon.

    Egg,
I think that's what Anton is wanting to find out. How did you create that brush?

I suppose you create a line with an arrowhead, and then EDIT it -define spacing.... and you have a brush... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

    Availor,
The question is not "how to create a brush", but how do you create one where the arrow bends with the curves.

I'll send the brush to Gary and perhaps he'll add it to the Brushes Gallery in the XaraXone.
Meanwhile if you've got broadband there's a demo here.
