    Hello to all.

I am a current user of XaraX, but not (yet ?) of the X1 version...

Here is my question : I usually have little problems using it professionaly, when I want to make some imports, especially when it is EPS or even JPEG format !
(I really don't know why for JPEG).

So I would like to know if the X1 version is more performant about importing questions ? Or do you advise to use - for example - CorelDraw for these questions...

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Stephane
Can't understand why you have problems importing JPG's. I have on very rare occassions had problems opening jpg files from a Mac source, but never at other times.
I imagine the EPS import problem is dependant on the source program. Search the Forums for EPS, I'm sure you'll find an imtermeadery program.

Actually, the problem importing JPG's came from that fact I had JPG's in RGB colors and not CMYK one. So it was easy to find a solution.

Anyway for the EPS's, it is more complicated. Thanks for your advice I'll have a look on the other forums. I didn't know there where complementary programs for Xara.

    Thanks

    Hi Stephane,

They worked quite a bit on the import and export of xara files between x and x1. x does not produce a cmyk black but x1 does.

Here are the tabled results of all the inputs/outputs from xara and any problems encountered with other programs from my beta testing...

Are there solutions for the future , about these ESP (or AI too) imports ?

As it is quite important when having to use Xara in a professional way

    Have good day,

    Hello Stephane

This was done on the beta version #2 I think. The release is at least 5 or 6. I know I have exported as an AI and had no problems opening with AI. As long as you did not push AI too hard it works fine. AI can not do what xara X1 does....

Xara cannot import a CMYK JPEG. I am not sure if that was the problem you were having.

We can only hope in the next release of Xara X, they will update the EPS and AI import filters.

Currently Xara can import up to Illustrator 8 but much has happened in Illustrator since then. If you count version CS that is three newer versions.

    Gary
