Create letters around an object in 3D

Hi just wanted to get some feedback on whether or not I can do this in Xara Xtreme. Anyone who has been to a movie recognizes the Universal logo with the word universal circling around a globe. I don't really want to animate it but just wanted to know if you can make letters appear as if they are going around an object, primarily a globe or something similar. I think it would be a neat way to give some unique twists to greeting cards, etc. Am I making any sense or is this a fools errand. Thanks for being so compassionate.

Alternatively you may use the mould tool (SHIFT+F6) and fashion the text in this way

I would draw a cylinder in perspective to use as guide lines for shaping the text with the mould tool.
