Is it any trick to import an EPS file into Xara Extreme, who is saved via Illustrator ver 11.00?

Welcome to the Xtreme Conference Lars.
No trick, really. Xara just cannot import anything later than version 8.
Is this a file you are creating or someone else's file you need to open.
In any case, if the file is not too large, and the fonts have been converted to outlines, and you can attach the file here, one of us with Illustrator may be able to open the file and save it for you.
One thing though, EPS files are not that easy to edit because complex shapes and gradient fills are broken into several shapes. In the case of gradient fills, broken into up to 256 separate shapes.
*.EPS files are intended for printing, *.AI files are for editing.

Pitty, really Because i am coming from the printing industry - a lot of my files are in Illustrator and preferabely in the latest versionNo trick, really. Xara just cannot import anything later than version 8.
Does not matter in Illustrator - both are editable.
Lars
I found a good enough way to overcome this when I received late EPS files from a client. I open up the EPS in Illustrator (I have v.11 as well) and export it as WMF. Then I simply drop the WMF into Xara. Voilà.
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.

You are the best Big Frank ....
Works like a dream..
Thank you - you saved my day...
If you owns Adobe Illustrator, you're also able to save the drawing as a .AI V7/V8-version and import this file.

Remi
Been looking for that option Remi.
But can not find it - where do you choose this option
Lars
File > Export > Illustrator Legacy (*.AI) > Version

I'm not sure, how it's called in a english version of Adobe Illustrator, because I have the german version, but I would say try the following:
- menu "File" -> "Save As..." -> choose a new file name and AI-Format
- choose Compatibility: "Illustrator 8.0" or "Illustrator 7.0"
- import this file into Xara Xtreme
