Ask them what they use to open your file with. Also, feel free to upload the pdf you made and I can check it. Might save the hassle of looking for another company.
Thank you! Here's the .pdf. KarolynsLogo.pdf

That is what I would do. You can use heavy lines and add Stroke Shapes then when you are done, convert your lines to shape and then select all the converted lines and Arrange > Combine Shapes > Add Shapes to give you a single image.so even if I have to re-draw it again that is fine

GP, are we looking at a different XAR file? The car and swoosh are vector.
I won't be able to look at the PDF for 20 minutes or so.
Mike - I just created a PDF/X from the Xara file. Not sure what PDF setting would have exported the car drawing as bitmap. In my test file the car exported as a vector object. And not sure why bu my PDF is considerable smaller in file size.

Likely two things. One, I converted the text to curves when I generated the PDF. Two, probably the largest increase comes from my PDF having ICC tagged content.
Rendering of vectors varies from program to program. Even though it's technically smooth as can be, rendering is everything.
