    the only thing I can say to this thread is: fine if you know what shade you want, and if the graduation steps are also as you want them from one end to the other

    Perhaps you could explain why the drag is required HD, I can't understand why?

    btw: if real colour accuracy is called for we should be able to define the position of the handles in terms of co-ordinates relative to the object - but we can't [afaik]

    HD, your situation is why XDP needs to have a tint slider without the need to a named color. It would still involve the color editor or a "color gallery" that can be docked if desired.

    and the end of the day I colour cartoons on the fly most of the time

    I guess if I were doing fine art.. well I'd be using painter....
