...can be made from the attached alphabet?

The Rules:

1. You can only go in one direction - e.g. A towards Z
2. If you go past Z, then you must come back in from A - e.g.YES
3. The letters must be in sequence within the alphabet - e.g. GOT
4. You cannot go past the letter you started with
5. You cannot go backwards - e.g. SEA
6. Your word should begin with the last letter of the last word posted. - e.g. If the last word posted was BIT, then your words should begin with T
7. Your word should be in the following dictionary: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/
8. If you can't provide a word beginning with the last letter of the previous word, you can post a word beginning with the same letter as the previous word. - e.g. GLOVE was the word.You can either go with "E" or "G"
9. If you cannot post a word starting with the last letter of the last word, and you wish to use the FIRST letter of the last word (Rule 8), then you must wait until twelve hours have elapsed since the last word was posted.
10. You cannot have another go, until someone else has a go after your try

So, here's my word: FORTY

hmmm, i know i'm running on very little sleep cos of halloween (yeah, yeah, that's it), but what am i missing here??? if you can go beyond the letter that you start with then there isn't anything you can't spell, right??

You can only go in one direction.
From A to B to C to D etc...
Therefore, 'sailor' is not correct.
You are going from 's' to 'a', which is going backward through the alphabet, then you can't go from 'a' to 'i', which is then going forward through the alphabet.

You can only go in one direction - Rule 1.
