PDF's will not open or import into Xaradp9

Certain pdf files will not import even though they look as if they are when I chose to merge. Same thing when I try to open.These very same files
can be imported (placed) into Indesign. I have checked layers and there is only one (the visible current one which shows a pdf in the layer properties. It just is not visible though.

Can you post the PDF?

InDesign doesn't open a PDF for editing (not without an expensive plugin). It merely places a preview image of the pdf page(s) chosen.

This board 's image insert button will not allow pdfs, apparently only jpgs, pngs & gifs. Normaly I am able to import pdf,s into Xara but the batch I am trying to import was created from the latest version of Acrobat (X1) Maybe that affected it???

If you click the go advance button below the quick reply box, you can attach files including PDFs.
