I've had another look at the shadows.
My investigations have revealed this result.

The box shadow is as shown.

The shadows of the book was a bit more difficult.
The rims of the books (where you see the pages) do not allow any shadow to be thrown onto the pages, because, the rims stick out more than the pages.
