Default how do i effect a mask on one photo that is over another without affecting the one ph

I've searched everywhere and have not found the answer. Photoshop uses layers differently, so I can easily see how I can effect a mask operation on one photo (the mask & photo are on the same layer). But in Xara, if I have a photo over another, my mask operation affects both photos.

Thanks if you can point me in the right direction.

Hello Narlee I In Xara the mask will affect the photo you have currently selected, and once you have enabled the mask layer (you will see a pink overlay over everything) you will only see the currently selected photo. You can then use any of xara's drawing tools to draw a selection on the mask.

Ahhh. The layer object lock did the trick. Thx!
