Almost finished but really struggling to make 'non cardboard' looking hands!. Not happy with the lower half but I think it's something to come back to at a later stage.

I have uploaded a snap of the drawing pulled apart to show some how some of the 'look' is made up: boring for the xperts I know but just incase it offers insight to anyone starting out. I know that I often wondered how to get a look of depth etc and took a while to realise ie many many layers etc.

Found this one very hard and has taken many hours, I get the feeling i'm a bit slow at this and none of it seems very intuitive at the moment ie it's all stop-start. Really want to get good so will keep practising.

looks like a complicated piece Ant, keep at it, it's coming along just fine.

Thanks 'A'. I'm probably trying to run before learning to walk, but that is typical of me. I started to study a book called 'the fundamentals of drawing' by Barrington Barber but got carried away with 'the exciting stuff' on xara.

I really need to get some basics in place before trying to move on. You guys do make it look soooo easy but I imagine you have probably had to go through the learning curve of all the fundamental stuff.

    Thanks again.

    and besides resistance is futile
LOL yes I actually had the idea to draw one with a watering can, bottle of 'baby bio' on the table and the 'flower' trying to resist being watered with the borg saying "resistance is FERTILE'. As always, my artistic skills cannot keep pace with my (slightly damaged?) imagination!.

But thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
