    Frances are you saying the laptop stops charging and you remove the battery to make it charge further?

    The next time you take the battery out see if you can find the manufacturing date. A lithium-ion battery can lose 20% of it's ability to charge for every year since it was manufactured.

    Frances' battery fully discharged, but was reluctant to recharge.

    Paul she did not say if the battery fully charged then she removed the charger and continued to use the laptop to consume some of the charge then attempts to recharge.

    Facts must be present before a solution can be found. I am attempting to obtain all the facts.
