I have just recently purchased Xara X and have seen some of the great illustrations produced with the program. Can anyone point me to some tutorials that will show how to create an image...I took an online course but I didn't learn too much.

Thanks everyone for the help. I will certainly investigate all these links.
Use the line tools and the shape editor. I drew this P-40E using just straight lines bent with the shape editor (other than the few circles & rectangles). Draw a short line, then bend it to shape because it only allows you to bend so much in keeping with the shape you're tracing, then add onto the line. Takes a little practice, but is very easy once you get the basics.

I went to About.com and entered the following query "Xara X tutorials"
which produced these results;

660 hits! - There's even a WAREZ site listed! Aharh!! Matie's - This be Long John Silver's place - well
BTW; If you find Pop-Ups annoying don't forget to bring along your favourite
"Pop-Up Stopper" when surfin' this site because a site of this size relies heavily
on adverts for funding.

Yeah the Xara Xone definitely http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
The Workbook tutorials are shorter and easier to do.
Also The WebXealots #16-30 are kind of an on-line manual and describe each of the tools and features and how they work.
There are guest tutorials provided by many of the talented Xara users from around the world. And other cool stuff as well.
And as Tim point out, you can ask questions and get very quick answers here.
Good to have you with us.

As Tad said, the XaraXone is the place to be.
there are workbooks and tutorials. The workbooks are a bit easier, but all are so well written that if you take your time, go step by step, you will be amazed. I know I was when I started.

Out of curiosity - where did you find the on-line training?
