    Default tablets for comics

    http://pesquisa.fnac.pt/Mesa-Digitalizadora/f637

hi Since I`ve heard tablets are expensive, i was surprised to find rather cheap ones on this link. Do you know any of these and can we use any of them for drawing comics and graphics in general?

    thanks

Any of the Wacom tablets will work with Xara applications. I have not personally used any of the Aiptek tablets but I have heard they are reliable.

Bluetooth would only be an advantage with a laptop or desktop that supports Bluetooth and you don't like using cords.

My old Wacom Graphire tablet (about 10 years old) works with every graphics application I have installed. I don't have Gimp or Google Sketchup but the way the tablet works if an application works with a mouse it will work with a tablet.

I personally am really enjoying using my Wacom Bamboo. It's just the right size for what I do. And remember with tablets, bigger isn't necessarily always better. I'm very happy with my 4"x6", because I tend to draw really really small to begin with, so a larger tablet would just be wasting space on my desk.

I just been to Worten. They had a Wuwei tablet, but was told can only be used for drawing with an application, like the Apple ones. Its small. We actually use pens to draw on the tablet right?
Ill see if i can find youtube tutorials on tablets

isnt that a problem with comics, since normally cartoonists draw their strips about 60% larger than what comes out in the books.?
Or is it easier than drawing on paper?

A google search does not turn up any Wuwei Tablets, although Wu Wei can mean "Natural Action" in Chinese. That would make a good name for a tablet.

Wacom makes larger tables than the Bamboo although they are also more expensive. Look at the Wacom Intuos and Cintiq tablets.

Cintiq are expensive. But if the small ones are good enough for comics then its fine
