Default Inner Shadow? Got to be an easier way?

Imagine a box.... how do I get an inner shadow...???

currently I'm cloning clipping and allsorts - i.e. experiencing PAIN.

    What is the best way?

This has to be a feature by now?

To offset the inner shadow a bit, just nudge the top feathered white rectangle down/right a bit.

wow that video is bloody brilliant. But I can't quite see what's going on.

Could you have a window open on the RHS. And then in that window after each operation, write what you just did?

I don't understand the clone rectangle bit!

    It's too fast!

Can you do one of these for my question about keeping curves on boxes the same ratio when you resize the box.
What tool/upload facility did you use for the video? whenever I do these it takes ages - wondering if there was a faster way, I'd ask questions this way instead !!

If the frame is going to print it is always better to use a pure vector way to do this!
    1. Make your frame but copy the inner rectangle to your clipboard after centralising both frames using (Ctrl+Shift+L) then click on the centre to central both.
    2. Select both and hold down Ctrl+2 to subtract the inner shape so it becomes 1 shape.
    3. Paste copied shape from Clipboard Ctrl+Shift+V and colour this shape to black or dk. grey
    4. Paste again with the same method and colour white or lt. grey and while holding down Shift drag shape in to make slightly smaller.
    5. Select both and use the Blend Tool to make your internal shadow or glow with somewhere between 15 to 25 steps

In step 4 you might want to adjust the aspect ratio but this depends on the size and shape of the frame.
The way John did it on the Vid. was to colour the inside rectangle Dk grey- Then clone the inner rect. make it white, - Then feather that rectangle very easy!
    Design is thinking made visual.

Yep, the first attachment. The second one explains other variations and their good and bad points
