Okay .... This was the 4th photo manipulation I did.
The VooDoo Racing thread had been seen by the folks at GT Playground and I was asked to create an image like that for their site. It was my 2nd home on the web, so I agree. I thought the paint should be simple and not take away anything from the the lines of the car with the graphics, here's what I came up with.
Photo:
* Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) - Photo Mode
* Photographed by (I use that term loosely) Madalynne Crowe (me)
Alterations:
* Lowered suspension - done within game (no photo alteration needed)
* Simple 4-part color paint (White, Silver, Black & Red)
* Added Website name to the side of the side
* Gave the car a car number
* I signed the Quarter Panel of the car with my user name for the website.
I would have done more to the car, but this seemed to be just right and I felt that anything more would have been overkill. I learned a couple more things from this image;
* I don't need to paint the entire car to get the look I'm after
* Less can be more - I can leave something undefined and let the viewer use their imagination.
* The quality of the source image really needs to be an issue, but for some reason I was really fixated & dead set on using cars from the GT4 game - probably because I was able to take the photo myself.
When this image was present to the power that be at GT Playground, it was used in banners promoting the site. I did a few more GT4 photo alterations before I got a request to do another do another Nissan Skyline with a flamboyant paint scheme - which will be the next post.
As always any and all comments are welcome.
