Hi ive just downloaded xara web designer 7 for a trial. Ive been told in order to download the templates I would need to actually buy the software!
I wish to create websites for potential customers
Ive noticed that there are a few issues that Ive read about regarding this software so not sure if it is ideal for me to buy?
Are the free templates ALWAYS free when there are update templates in place on WWW?
Hello...I had asked if the new V7 Premium was an upgrade to Pro6 and was told the Pro7 maybe released in June.
The last email I received says...<There's a brand new version of Xara Web Designer and it's available right now. V7 has just been launched, it’s packed with new features and it’s now available in two versions – Xara Web Designer 7 and a pro version called Xara Web Designer 7 Premium. >
This message says the Pro version is the 7 Premium. Can someone tell if this is the upgraded Pro6?
Thanks
It isn't
Xara Web Designer 7 is an upgrade of Xara Web Designer 6. It also comes in a new flavour, Xara Web Designer 7 Premium [with some extra bits obviously]
Xara Designer Pro 7 will be - around June-ish - the upgrade to Xara Designer Pro 6.
They have made it very confusing imo.

Thank you very much...and you are correct. Confusing? to say the least.

Hi, Does anyone know if websites created in v6 Web Designer be able to be opened and edited in v7? I've got several websites created with v6 and need to know if compatible.
Thanks
Phil
Hi Phil,
Welcome to Talkgraphics.
Yes you can open your .web files created with Web Designer 6 and edit them in Web Designer 7.

I think the way the question is phrased, Phil means, "Can you open the HTML and edit it?". The short answer, Phil, is you can open the original Web file in version 7 and edit it and re-export the site, but Web Designer doesn't support editing of sites themselves that already have been exported.

I apologize as I am certain this has been discussed before. I am new to this group but not to web development. I am simply looking for web designer 7 to speed up some projects.
Could someone help me out with a "header issue". I would simply like to float some artwork (images) in front and back of existing images. I know the standard procedures (I think) but don't know if XWD 7 has additional artwork that was in their demo (You tube video) I can't seem to find it. I know this must be simpler than I am making it..
Thanks for any help. The software is very impressive for speeding up some work. I will have many more questions about integration for more advanced sites soon . Thanks to all.
