Is there a newer version of Designer Pro 6?

I installed MAGIX PC Check & Tuning Free 2011.

After running the programme, one of the things it does is to check which versions of the programmes you have and whether there is a more up to date version available.

In the list, I was surprised to see that Designer Pro 6 was also listed.

My version is 6.1.2.13287

Seems that Version 6.1.3.14789 is available but I cannot find this on the Xara Web Site and if I get Designer Pro 6 to check for an update, it says there is no update available.

If I click the 'Download now' button (from the MAGIX PC Check programme, as shown in the pic attached), I get a page not found and if I click the 'Download from manufacturer, I get the Magix web site and clicking the Designer Pro link, I end up on the Xara web site.

Strange that a Magix programme says there is newer version available and yet I cannot seem to find it?!

I suspect that this update has not been released but is somehow listed. It probably fixes one or two small problems.

6.1.3.... version is the latest magix/german release;
the latest xara/english one remains 6.1.2....

You would have thought that only the language would be different?!

I agree with you but if you go to the Magix web site and click on Designer Pro 6, it sends you to the Xara web site.
Therefore I would have thought that it's the same people?

I installed the Magix PC Check & Tuning software from their UK web site (http://www.magix.com/gb/) and would have thought that it would deal with things accordingly?

Anyway Steve, I only mention the above as a point of discussion and not disagreement.

One final point, Magix owns Xara, doesn't it?!

Rik it is possible the version difference has nothing to do with updates to how the program functions, for example bug corrections.

It could be an update to correct a translation error or a change in a dialog window so that the complete translation is displayed.

The report from the PC Check & Tuning may be in error because it is not taking into consideration the different language versions.
