Can I use magix movie edit pro instead of camtasia?

I know that camtasia is designed for creating screen cams and has some really ggod features like call outs and smart zooms.
But movie edit pro seems just as powerful, but harder to use. It is a lot cheaper.
Anyone using it for screen captures ?

I use FastStone Capture which I believe is shareware or freeware and which is easy to use for both screen captures and motion captures.
