Default drawing with automatically closing shapes

drawing this way freehand, with a tablet, can produce some interesting artistic effects tending towards the abstract maybe - I've been experimenting for Gary's cartoon show
you can use a mouse too

in order to do it [ Designer Pro 6]:

    open new document
    activate mask mode
in the page&layer gallery make the normal layer active
    make the mask layer visible
draw [on the active normal layer]

by default the mask is 50% transparent - I changed this [using xareg] to 99% transparent, so that effectively it was not visible at all whilst drawing

you can draw on more than one normal layer - but each time you add one, the mask layer will be set non-visible, so you will need to change this back

And I'd be interested in knowing whether this works for others, as its always possible I've done something in the registry....

forming shapes that automatically close and fill while you are drawing is usually seen as a problem but these little acidents can sometime prove very interesting, as you've shown.

    Hi Derek

its a bit like using a brush with a rather complicated make up

    especially with transparency made current

apologies to Bob and his cat
