Default Re: Forum Upgrade - Weds 18th August 2010 10:00 UK time

With vBulletin upgrade, the formum is practically useless for me.
For starters, my system, Mac, Intel processer, OS X 10.4.11.
The problem: when I load the site, it indicates I have to log in. OK. I log in, everything is fine. Except when I leave and return a while later. It wants me to log in again. But wait if I click thru to a topic it looks like I am here, "Welcome, username" Notifications and all the other stuff is at the top of the screen. I go back to the main page and I am not here anymore, and if I leave and come back later it is the same routine over again. I use FireFox 3.6.8, I have tried emptying all my cache and cookies for the browser. When I do that and return to the site it wants me to log in of course, so I do and I am here, username etc. at the top. But again if I leave and return again it is the same story all over. I have tried the latest versions of Safari and Opera with the same results.
    Anyone got any suggestions.
    Thanks.

Opera is working fine for me. Have you remembered to check the "Remember me" box on login?

Opera is showing the "Unanswered posts" item in an odd location. Haven't checked any other browsers ....

    Sunland,
When you log in and check where it says "Remember me", a cookie is saved on your system containing your info. If the next time that you visit TG you must log in again, then that means the cookie from before is no longer there.
Many things can cause this. You must set FF to allow cookies from TG.
I'm not very familiar with FF. But sometimes browsers have an option to clear History/Cache/Cookies when you close the browser. There's undoubtedly other things that can cause this behaviour, but I don't know about them.

    Keith,
I think they're still fiddling with that feature at this moment. I didn't notice those links at the top before. My Private messages link has a light background now. So I think it's being worked on

I mentioned this once before but it has become buried. One thing that has gone missing since the upgrade is Parahandy's Car. The car was added to the banner as a tribute to member Norman Spence, who succumbed to cancer a year or so ago. Is there any way the car could be restored to the banner?

I'm with you on this, Frances. Norman was a member in a million. I miss seeing his car at the top of the page, too.
