Default how to clip an eps logo?

Hi folks, I have a version of my company logo in an vector based format. If I select the photo tool the handles disappear.

I would like to clip the logo .... is it not possible to clip a vector based image such as an eps or illustrator file? If so what have you guys found as a work around? Thanks!

    Hi

photo tool clip only works on bitmaps

for vector art - draw a rectangle [or other shape] over the logo, select both and intersect [ctrl+3]

if you want to crop more than one vector object at once group them first

you could also use clipview, which is reversable

Hello Cary and welcome to TalkGraphics

The EPS logo if it is a vector is already clipped. You may need to select the background and delete it. EPS can also contain bitmaps so if the logo in fact is a bitmap exported as an EPS then you will need a more complex process as Steve has suggested.

Can you post the logo here and let us have a look?

Hi folks, thanks for your reply. I will try your suggestions

I have a fairly simple logo... just the letter 'C' concentrically repeated three times and slightly revolved. Simple black and white. I have attached a similar version to my final logo... this is a version for very small objects.

I was hoping you would attach the EPS version. Can you do that?

You can use the Mehdi Eraser Classic to drop out the white, but there is still a bit of anti-aliased fringe around the edges.

Live Effects Tool > New > > Mehdi > Eraser Classic

But if you have a vector format your image will be much cleaner.

As an image, you can select the image on screen, open the bitmap gallery, select the image there and hot transparent. The white will become transparent. With the image selected select black from the color line, and set to contone light. The gray transition pixels will become black.
