Linking to a specific post rather than the whole thread

After some searching, I was unable to find the thread I wanted. How can one link to a specific post in TG rather than just the thread. I know it involves the IE browser, and right clicking on the
post you want to link to and I think then selecting properties from the right click menu. But copying and pasting the address that results into the address field doesn't work for me.
I hope this is the correct forum for this query.

Hi Bob,

You can link to a single post (called 'permalinks') from any browser simply by clicking the post # in the top right corner right near the 'Report Post' icon. Then save that URL

Steve's method above works great if a stand-alone post is what you want. If, on the other hand, you prefer to show a particular post within the flow of the thread conversation, there is a slight adjustment that you can make.

Mouse-click the post # in the top-right corner, as recommended by Steve, then edit the link in your browser's address bar: 1) change 'showpost' to 'showthread', then 2) remove the '&postcount=1'

Or (for a full thread) just copy the stuff from the browser address field.
