WD6: change the Dark Skin to the old Grey Skin

Hi,
maybe i found a simple way to change the dark gray skin to the "old" gray skin.

- close XWD6
- Start regedit
- navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\WebDesigner\6.0\Op tions\Workspace
- change the value DefaultSkinName from "XARAGREY" to ""
- close regedit
- start XWD6

Now the Skin should be lt. gray

I use the XWD6 trial.

Thats interesting to know, but I've been playing in WD6 a lot over the last two days and I find when I go into Xtreme5 everything looks a little too bright and just less easy to work with.
I was skeptical of the new colour scheme at first but I have to say that I now can't wait for Xtreme to darken up as well as it already seems a more comfortable work space, (as long as I can have the option of reducing the size of the shortcut icons).

How about being able to drag-and-drop a color from the color line onto the UI to change the skin's color scheme?

I agree with you. After using WD6 for a few days I also find I like it better than Xtreme's brighter color scheme. The only problem I have with it is finding the gray scroll bar on the gray background; especially if I don't have my glasses on.

The color value in my registry is XARADARK. Changed it to XARALIGHT and got the old XX5 light gray colors. Makes it a lot easier to jump back and forth between programs. I feel much more at home with the old colors and will try both to see what happens.

Really useful. I find the new colours dour and depressing and as everything else I use is in lighter format it is important to me to get XWD6 the same. Might not have upgraded if I coul not change (despite the, at last, fast publish).

Start the program, hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S keys to change skin.
