I like the upgrade, but I'm a bit bummed, because I just bought Web Designer 5 a couple of weeks ago. Since there is no upgrade discount, I wish I'd know 6 was in the works, and I'd have waited, and saved myself $49. I'll probably buy it, though, since it has some features I'd like to have.

If you bought WD5 after February 8th you can get a free upgrade

That's great, but how do I get it? WD5 wouldn't upgrade, and WD6 won't take my old reg. #. I bought WD5 on Feb. 25th.

EDIT: Sorry - I followed your link, and will see how that works out. Thanks!

    Default Xara Web Designer 6

I downloaded the trial version then bought it yesterday, great piece of software, need to know if the html code is optimized for browsers, the WC3 html and css validator did not find any errors, just in the youtube code, which is not part of xara, and my site is http://www.frenglishnews.com, thanks to webdesigner, I will be able to update the articles easily and the pictures too, so it is great!

Default Re: Xara Web Designer 6 Question...please help

    First..GREAT update (ver. 6)
Need help with an issue. I have been using Xara products for over 5 years maybe longer.
I have noticed with Xara Xtreme5 as well as WD5 and now WD6, when I launch the program,
a window pops up asking if I want to register the program for .WEB.
When I click yes, another window pops-up telling me unable to create this file assoc. because I do not have sufficient privileges and have to be an administrator.
I am the administrator of the computer and the only one that uses it.
Can someone tell what I am missing here to create the .WEB association for these programs?

    Thanks,
    Mike P

Right-click the shortcut icon and select 'Run as Administrator' and try again.

Thought this should not be necessary if as you say you are logged in as admin. Though the message you posted suggests you are not?
