I have supported Xara for the last 10 years buying all the upgrades etc. I just hope in this next version they put some development effort back in the vector tools.

The Xara Outsider specifically references "web designers", so whatever the announcement is, it seem unlikely to be new vector tools...

    From: http://www.xara.com/us/outsider/march10/
"Web Designers amongst you might want to sign up to one of our instant news services (see under Other News) to ensure you catch some Big News as it happens... before the next Outsider."

It could be that they are releasing a new version of Web Designer first, and perhaps a new version of Xtreme is coming later, so there could still be some hope for Xtreme.

Personally I would hope that if they still plan on continuing to Market Web Designer and release Web Designer 6 that they would release Xtreme 6 at the same time with all the new Web Designer features included and hopefully with some new vector tools.

I would hate to have to jump back and forth between applications like I had to do before Web Designer features were added to Xtreme 5.

I realize that there is another tread asking for leaner version of Xtreme but I like having everything in one application.

sledger not to take into account that I don't know Australian Dollars and their position to Euro/USD, price here may mean something good.. but it can mean something bad - not enough changes in Xtreme 6 could lead to people wanting to save for CS5/X5 - I am among such people.. and I'm waiting for Xara's move...

Same here. If Xara makes it, I buy it. Can't wait for the X6 release and hope there has been done _some_ work on vector tools!

+1 on the hope for new vector tools! And some attention to brushes!

I haven't bought a new copy since 3. Main reason for not upgrading is the slow speed at which vector tools are developed. I've requested true pressure sensitivity for ages, but the folks at Gaddesden seem more focussed on bitmap editing and web design. Sigh... And now I'm locked in with Illustrator (and there's a lot over there since CS4 in terms of speed and flexibility) but I still long for the fluidness of Xtreme and the clean uncluttered interface of Xara. (AND DON'T GO TOO FAR WITH THE GUI! XPE is far beyond my taste)

So, if there's good support for pressure sensitive tablets (Wacom, TabletPC) i'll step up the bandwagon again.
