Publish to web is timing out

Yes, I did verify that with the host. When I talked to them they said there was something going on with Xara and that there should be no problem as far as accessing anything through the host. I tried entering the /httpdocs that the previous person used, and that got me pretty far (61% uploaded), however, when it started to upload index_2, it said access denied. Why would it upload page 1 no problem, then not work on page 2?

I asked the host about this and they said that I had like 100 mgs of space. He said that should not be a problem.

Bonnie it looks as if you posted only part of the debugview data. I see none of the information about establishing the connection and setting the current directory. All the information is relative because it tells what all the other information that follows applies to.

Bonnie if you use a zip utility or the Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 compressed file feature to create a zip file you can place the full report within the .zip and it will attach to a post here at Talkgraphics.

According to what you have provided so far everything is working as it should. The "PUTFILE worked" message indicates the named file was uploaded to the server without errors.

Somewhere after the end of that portion of the report and before what you posted earlier is where the problem is occurring.

Hi Bonnie,

The problem seems to be when the FTP process is trying to upload the index_2.htm file on your computer.

All the files from the index_htm_files folder were uploaded without error.

The FTP program changed directory from the index_htm_folder on the server to the httpdocs folder where the index.htm file is uploaded without an error.

When the FTP process tries to PUT the index_2.htm file access is denied to the file on your computer so the FTP process cannot transfer a copy to the server.

Check the permissions on your machine for the index_2.htm file, or see of some application has the file open on your machine. Either your account may not have access rights to the file (not likely but it is possible), or some application has the file open (most likely for editing) and access is not granted to the FTP process.

In the following section of the report file the blue indicates where the index.htm file is PUT to the server and succeeds.

The red section of text is where the FTP process tries 3 times to PUT the index_2.htm file but cannot because access is denied (on your system, NOT the server). Computer protocols typically will try 3 times before deciding the task cannot be completed successfully. After trying 3 times and failing to get access to the file the FTP process terminates because it cannot complete it's task of PUTTING all the required files to the server.

BTW the references to the Passive connection 0x00cc0008 made by 0x0628ea44 is for Windows to know where to send the error message.
Windows programs depend on 'messages' and the OS needs to know where to send a particular message.
