clipping path

Will xara 5 clipping path scale the PNG image to size? Need a original art scaled to the dimensions of a rectangle. Have xara 3.2 and thinking of upgrade to 5 if need be. Also need to move the PNG art image after clipped. I recall Corel did and Freehand before Adobe gobbled them up.

I believe a clipping path simply clips away the part of the image outside its boundaries.
Here is a suggestion. If you import your image into Xara 3.2 you can scale it in the normal way by dragging the corner in or out. If the aspect ratio needs changing, then first create a rectangle of the right aspect ratio that just fits inside your image, then select both, combine shapes, intersect shapes and finally scale the result to the desired size. Re-export as png.
