How do I totally remove the white - or any - background for exporting into Indesign?

When I use the transparency slider, it only changes the transparency of the text.

Hi Jim,

There is no white bitmap background to Xtreme.
You are only seeing the page document background when working with the software.
Unlike Bitmap editors which can show you a gray check background to represent transparency, Xtreme is a vector graphics application where everything has a transparent background.
However, when you export to a bitmap, please select PNG type and choose True Color + Alpha
