    Default Spider

I call this the spider of hard works because it was a difficult task to get a photograph. I saw the spider on the outside window of my house. Went out to get a photo but the light was lousy, the position was difficult. But after much effort managed to get a worthwhile shot after about 50 attemps!!
By the way it is not poisonous. Otherwise I would have been dead ages ago!!

    Thumbs up Re: Spider

    Wonderful pictures, Rupert.
I like taking pictures of spiders. They are sometimes very tricky, but generally spiders are more willing to pose than other anthropoda.
I find them more appealing too.

Thanks John. You have some top photos there.
I admire the way they build their webs. We used to accidentally walk into them in the garden at night. Creepy experience!
I just couldn't get enough light for the subject today. I have yet to set up a little flash unit to brighten things up.
Here is where I was taking the photo.
Yes, they are willing poses and stay steady.
Bees are difficult because they are constantly on the move.

John, great shots as well as the lighting. I am guessing that you used fill flash? I also like the shots Rhanna took, but the lighting in John's makes the arachnid stand out more and has more color in background.

Spiders are not my favorite animals but you make these look pet-able, lol. I like the garden spider on the web 2.

I don't know whether I have put this up before on the macro sites. This is a very small spider. The interesting thing that its legs are structured in such a manner they provide a protective canopy. Note the long spikes on the legs.

    Brilliant macro shot Rupert!
This must be a jumping spider if I'm correct. An amazing creature.
