circle tool stuck on circles, won't make ellipses

It's been working fine until today. Now when I try to draw an ellipse, just click and drag, it will only make circles. I'm not holding any other keys down while doing this.

Have I toggled something on by mistake? If so, how do I un-select it?

You have 'radius-creation' or 'diameter-creation' selected on the info bar.
Select 'bounds-creation' and away you go
