One thing to keep in mind is objects are centered on the path. So having the objects on top of the path as you have shown is not how it works.

And the blend starts and ends with the first and last object centered on the ends of the path.

BOB, I tried the tut and its not what I was hoping for.
I would like to create a blend that follows a line on edge apposed to in the center when it follows the center it distorts, how do I stop this from happening?
As Gary said it works by following the center of a line which I find a bit of a bind. is there a way to change this ? or am I expecting too much, maybe its something for an upgrade?? Hint Hint

    regards jon
