768 Kbps adsl out in the rural area where I live. There are plans to upgrade sometime this year to a fiber optic network, but I'm not holding my breath.

I used the site http://www.ip-details.com/for the Internet Speed test checking for my Pc.
Not sure what's going on with that site, but it's not been updated for many years. It's unable to detect when people are using anything above verson 8 flashplayer (released on September 13, 2005). It simply asks you to update your browser!
Many people might still be on version 9, released on April 16, 2007, but version 10 has been downloaded to regular web users PC's since last October.
