Question Adding a loupe feature to web pages

I wonder if someone could help me please? I'm looking to add a magnification panel to some of my web pages and so I'm curious to learn please, just how I go about doing this using Xara Web Designer (XWD)?

As an example to hopefully demonstrate clearly what it is in fact I'm writing about (after all, isn't a picture supposed to say a 1,000 words), I would like to refer you please to the Royal Mail's 2009 stamp programme listing and in particular their most current issue, entitled 'Plants - Action for Species'.

Thanks a lot then in anticipation of advice about how I should in fact go about adding this feature, to my new XWD created web site.

On that site it is implemented with Flash. You can use the same Flash with WD. But I can't tell you where can you get one.

This might work, although I don't have experience with it: http://page-flip.com/products/magnif...ass-component/

There's a number of flash magnifiers available.
This one looks pretty good, cheap too.
An even better one (at a higher cost) is seen here.

Thumbs up Re: Adding a loupe feature to web pages

Wow! And thanks for this request and tips!

I have been wanting this too.
And the best part is that MagicToolbox offers this free for non-commercial use!

Be careful how you define "non-commercial use"

    Seems straight forward.
Though I'd like to see how discreet the copyright notice is

Get a license to use our products free of charge on a non-commercial website (as defined in the license agreement above). Here is a summary:

    • Yes: personal websites and blogs, charities, schools, NGOs.
    • No: sites owned by companies, sites with paid adverts, sites that generate revenue.

A discreet copyright notice will show in the corner of the enlarged image

Credit us by writing a few words about the tool somewhere on your website and include a link to our website.
