    Default Grandmother's Hollyhocks

Whew, this one took on a life of its own. After viewing Masque's poppy, I thought I'd try the watercolor effect on one of my hollyhock pictures (from my garden). I ended up finishing the entire image in my own style...a mixture of watercolor and the style of the two previous images. Well...I think it's my own style.

That's beautiful Nancy, down to the little blobs of pollen!

Now, humour me please and frame it as you did the Wren picture. I'm telling you, you're onto a winner with that style!

If you keep improving at this rate, others are going to get worried, but so what - please do, this is lovely

Personally I think the petal outlines could do with being softer - particularly the right hand flower inner

But this is not to distract from an excellent drawing which is a pleasure to see

Good eye Steve, I'll try softening them.

To dear Frank. Older hollyhock leaves are quite large and in this case I did not make a complete leaf. What hangs over the sides of the picture is not a pretty sight. This kind of framing is the best I can do.

Here's the photo I used to recreate the flowers in vector.
