    Can anyone suggest, please, how I can achieve in Xara the texture shown on the attached image.

    I would look through some of the fills in the Fill Gallery. There are some that would probably work when applied over an orange colored sphere.

    I didn't try to replicate the Bill's texture so much as I tried to draw an orange. My texture was done with transparent overlays and fractal plasma fill. I found applying profiles to the plasma fill very helpful.

    Wow, has it really been that long since that previous thread?

    This attempt was made with an ellipse and a circular fill. Clone the ellipse and give it a Granite7 fill from the Fills Gallery. Apply a Stained Glass transparency at 70%. Clone the transparent Ellipse and change the transaprency to Contrast.
