I cannot figure out how to curve these lines. I know how to curve the corners of a box or square but I don't know how to curve the corners of this shape.

Could someone give me a nudge in the right direction.

    Thanks

Add a node either side of the corner where you want the radius to start. Delete the corner node and then drag the line out to the desired position. Zoom in close to make it easier.

I am sorry to be so ignorant. Is a node a point from the line tool? If not, what is a node?

    Thanks,

Nodes are the points on your line segments designated by small squares. You can add a node by double clicking on the line. If you select a node (outline turns red) you can manipulate it separately from the others and also delete it if you so desire. You can also "drag" a line segment between two nodes which was what Christine suggested.

One man's node is another man's point.

CorelDRAW calls them nodes, Xara calls them Control Points.

    Same thing.

To amplify what Christine and John have said, to add a control point to a shape, with the shape selected, switch to the Shape Editor Tool. Click on the outline where you want to add a control point. Click on a control point you want to delete and press the Delete key on your keyboard.

To change a line to a curve, gently drag on the line with the Shape Editor Tool and the line will stretch like a rubber band.

As always there's more than one way to skin a cat.
I rarely add nodes using the above method, as you often want to get a correct 45 degree curve which is difficult by just 'click-adding' nodes. If you want greater control, try this method.

Thank you so much. It is great to know that if someone who uses Xara gets stuck that there is a place to go where there is this much talent and skill.

    Thanks again,

    John Furr
