Time for my bi-annual stop into TG. Since I continue to be unable to do much in Xara these days I don't get much chance to stop by here. I did however have a couple of designs to do this last weekend which prompted me to buy X1. Xara is still a lot of fun to use and as soon as those projects were done I was back to playing around with it. Here are the results. Nothing grand of course, just play. Its...

and a closer shot, without the "sketch" layer on.

That's it. Perhaps one of these days I'll have a finished project to show off. 'Til then I guess you just get the occational odd experiment out of me.

Lots of good work here these days. It's good to see things still going strong.

I have been reworking a previous graphic/patch from work because the company name has changed. I can't show the company logo because it's combination with the rest of the graphic hasn't been approved yet. I did some neat stuff with photos this last month for our newsletter but they are all too big to show here.

In my opinion you could improve your wallpaper image by making the horizon bend behind (through) the sphere as in lens distortion, the clouds as well but that would be trickier.
    just a thought.

When I've finished the pic and posted it, I'll give a quick outline of how I did the fur. It's mostly experimenting.

Better; I was assuming that you had meant it to be a glass sphere of course, you might have meant it to be a circle on a photograph.
What it needs now is a subtle shadow underneath on the ground and a highlight or two on the sphere itself to emphasise the spherical shape.
Here's an elderly example of my own.

Lots of really nice work!! Mine’s a bit boring in comparison, an animated piece that I’ve been working on. A piston pump (8 frames). I may need to add some additional frame etc once I see how/if it works on a web page..
