Default How to find a contrasting color?

Hello, I wonder how to do this effectively, the most straightforward way possible.

I have a background shape of a certain color, and want to have a font on top of it with a color that is the opposite (negative) of the background color. How can I easily find that out?

Wow. I bookmarked that site. Thanks. But I would like to see something done with xara. Not all the fancy array of creation of color scheme, mostly the complementary one.

    Welcome to Talkgraphics Eduardo.
There´s no direct way to do what you want as far as i know. You can however select your text - this will make the background of the text change to the opposite/contrasting color - then pick the color with an external color picker (not the one integrated in xtreme - it will not work) to get the correct color values.

    In H S V colour mode...

H = degrees on the colour wheel.

Add 180 degrees "to get to the other side"?

On your colour line = Red is 0 100% 100%

    add 180 degrees =

    Cyan 180 100% 100%

    Hi,
I believe a talented forum member Bill Taylor has a color wheel postes on the XaraOne website which includes instructions that give the various harmonies.

There's also the Colour Mixer, which gives harmonics and complementary colors along with Xpal to create color palettes.
