    Default Inner Glow?

Something that has puzzled me lately is that it doesn't seem possible to create a drop shadow glow that only affects the interior of a shape.
I understand that by cloning the original shape without a glow and placing it on top and adjusting its size gives the desired effect, but this seems a rather long-winded way of going about things.
    Anyone know of a shortcut?
    Saludos,
    Bob.

Instead of adjusting the size of the clone, use it to apply a clipview to remove the glow outside the frame.
This signature would be seven words long if it was six words shorter.

That worked a treat, Odat, thanks.
Hope it's possible to make out the inner glow on this.
One other thing, all the drop shadow types default as black,
except the glow, which is pink, it's no big deal,
but is there a reason for this?
    Saludos,
    Bob.

    Hi Bob,

Nice image. The inner glow/shadow is seen and is not too obtrusive.

I think the reason the glow is pink is simply to distinquish it from the shadows. A glow is giving off light and a shadow is partial blocking of light. Just my guess as to why Xara Ltd made the colour different.

That makes perfect sense to me, Bill.
Now why didn't I think of that?
Same reason that I didn't think of a clip view, I imagine!

    Bob.

The inner glow shadow has been addressed several times recently, and so there's a lot of help available. There is a tutorial in my signature on inner glow shadows.

The reason why the glow shadow is not black is presumably a logical one: cast shadows cause darkening, and are thus black coloured in Xara; glow shadows are not cast and are by definition of their name producing light--hence are not black. I think red was arbitrarily selected.

    Yet Another Inner Shadow.

Here I've used the feathering method to create an inner shadow.

The frame is rough and ready here of course, but that's what you get at 5:30am

You can make the shadow/glow any color you want... Just select the shadow and apply the color.
